And here we go again...

New Year and all that.  Which means but one thing - back on the diet.  

Oh shit.

So here we go.  Same diet rules (which I've been steadfastly ignoring for the last three/four months) as other stuff has taken priority over weight management (relationship break-up, Mum dying, house move - I've been busy).

So here we go in a New Year, new me kinda way.   I'll try to document just what it is I'm stuffing into my face, partly to put myself off the bad/tasty stuff, partly cos it mught be interesting.  I might even take pictures and upload them.  We'll see.

Anyway.  On with the motley.  I suppose i'd better weigh myself in the morning.  Bugger.

Chicken kebab

15 stones 13.4 pounds.

I'll type that again for effect. 15 stones 13.4 pounds.

The trick, obviously, is to not only keep consistently under the 16 stone barrier, but to maintain the downward trend mass-wise.

I'm very pleased with myself, but there's still a way to go.

Oh,and the kebab? Not only flipping delicious, but good for you too (in a grilled chicken with lotsa salad and a chili sauce kinda way).

Chicken salad

16 stones 3.0 pounds. Nudging down all the time. I've developed a little weekday thing (not every day, but three days out of five sounds about right) - no breakfast except black coffee, a big lunch of salad and meat (where I work there's a big salad bar of all sorts of stuff), and then - nothing except drinks and relatively healthy nibbles.

I'm sure that's an approach recommended by no-one at all.

Tho three days a week I'm only eating once. Bad me.

Jacket spud with tuna and salad

16 stones 4.4 pounds. And that's almost the lightest I've been since starting this at the end of January (another 0.4 pounds and I'll be there).

The 16 stone boundary is almost in sight, so we'll just have to see how this week goes...

Tuna and salad

16 stones 5.6 pounds. Yay, a little bit more shiftage! Actually, a bit of cheating as I didn't have an evening meal last night, as the lunchtime salad saw me through nicely...

That's not a good habit to get into, so I won't, but it's pleasing to see a downward twitch in the numbers.

Chili chicken on sauerkraut

16 stones 7.2 pounds. Mmm chicken oven baked with a chili sauce drizzled over it, served on a bed of sauerkraut. Easy peasy, tasty, and good for you.

Top tip: don't do too much chicken. Especially if you occasionally suffer from what my brother eloquently terms "the protein shits": at any point up to 24 hours after scoffing a mammoth amount of meat or fish, said meaty deliciousness makes a beeline for your anus from the inside...

Fishcakes and new potatoes

16 stones 7 pounds. That's not too bad at all, what aith my ickle brother's wedding in there, which I was expecting to pump the girth up a belt-notch or so.

So far, so back on the diet wagon, with a day of reasoned eating yesterday, a modicum of exercise (well, pooch-walking) and the same to come today, I'll wager.
